While many clients choose to prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) as part of broader later-life planning, others are prompted by significant life events. In this case, our clients were advised by their GP surgery to put LPAs in place following a recent diagnosis of dementia for one of them.

Our solicitor, Anthea Wilson, met with both husband and wife to take full instructions on their LPAs and Wills. Given the urgency of the situation, Anthea acted swiftly to prepare the draft documents and ensure they were ready for client review in a short timeframe.

Once the drafts were approved, both clients attended our office to sign their LPAs. We then coordinated with the named Attorneys to arrange for their signatures, ensuring the process remained straightforward and efficient throughout.

From first appointment to submission of the Court applications for registration, the matter was completed within three weeks. We hope that this timely progress provided comfort and reassurance to the clients during what was an understandably difficult and emotional time.

What Our Clients Say

“I was referred to Darby & Darby firstly to help me draw up my Will which they did efficiently and with huge patience. I then required advice on acquiring LPAs for both Property & Finance and Health & Welfare for myself. Once again, they were amazingly patient and helpful in explaining and completing the necessary forms.”
